welcome screen - remember password
after a long and greuling process of elimination by reading everything from "windows security for dummies" to an unclassified windows xp pro national security agency document on securing windows i finally realised my networks problem, i need a password for the user account to access the network folders basicly what i meed to know is...
does anyone know how to have windows xp professional edition automatically remember the password at the logon screen???
i will tolerate anything from a startup program to a reg. edit just as long as i dont have to type the password when i turn the computer on!

Tweakui from microsoft has this function. Can search here or at microsoft.com and find it pretty easily.
If you're happy and you know it......it's your meds.

Yes, TweakUI will work. You can also from the Administrator account, click Start, Run, and type "CONTROL USERPASSWORDS2" (without quotes). Remove the checkmark from Users must enter a username and password and click Apply and follow the prompt.
