can't open e-mail attach .swf?

Thought I'd seen about every type attachment, but now have received one with suffix 'swf' which I couldn't open so I went on-line and downloaded a trial version of swf decoder, but still can't open the attach that came in the e-mail. (May be missing a step in using this program?) I am using msn-6 with outlook express and have Win ME. Any help appreciated.

Its a macromedia flash file if you have the plug in installed it should open in Internet explorer .

Norm69--Are you getting any error messages, especially about the email being unsafe?
If so, click OE Tools|Options|Security tab and uncheck the box "Do not allow attachments...."|Apply|OK.
P.S. Never heard of a trial version of a .swf decoder, but while that does not mean it does not exist, why not just download and install the free Macromedia Flash Player?

P.P.S. You also need to have your IE Security settings permit ActiveX controls to be run to open .swf files.

Welshjim, It was a swf decompiler - first time I have seen that. Anyway, I did re download macromedia flash program and got the attachment open. Still don't understand what happened to the macromedia program I already had - - guess the 'dog ate it.' And I did change the security to let the attach run. After all that, it was something I had already seen from someone else. Thanks for the help.

Norm69--Thanks for responding. Great to hear that your problem seems to be fixed!!
You always have to set your settings to permit ActiveX controls to run to see Flash files, so maybe it was that or maybe the new Flash update. I have my ActiveX settings usually at Disable, but when I I see the little three cubes at the top left, I remember that I have to Enable or Prompt.
