    Window loses focus

    WinXP PRO:

I thought I had fixed this problem but after tinkering with user settings yesterday and have to re-set up users I have the issue again and my old fix no longer works.

My users have two or three applications running at the same time. User will be working in one application and have to print a receipt from it. While the app is printing the receipt, the app window loses focus. I had fixed this with a registry change:

    hkey-current user/control panel/desktop/foregroundlocktimeout and change to 200000 decimal.

I've checked that setting and it's still set at 200000.

    Any thoughts?

    TIA

To err is human. To forget to turn the NumLock on is just plain stupid.

I assume you are saying that the focus is being stolen before the 200 seconds has elapsed. You might want to try using the dword ForegroundFlashCount with a value of 0 along with your setting (under same reg key). I've heard it said though that there are random instances where these techniques don't seem to work. If the registry value you are setting is actually changing from your 200000 then some outside app is resetting it.
Please remember to post back whether your problem is resolved or
not, so that others may gain from the knowledge.

The 200000 setting isn't changed when I double check it but the window seems to still be losing focus. I'll change the setting you suggested and post back. Thanks!
