    This could really become interesting... for the music industry and all their master-tapes...might take them off the d/l issue...

    But seriously, I think:

    - some people need to be focusing on important issues
    - ...or get a life in the first place
    - ...and stop writing/speaking/thinking as everything can be mis-understood if one wants too; just thinking of the translations into other languages...aaachhhhh...

    A. Not wanting to take anything away from those who do remember ro have parents, grandparents etc who might but there's probably a lot of the young generation who have never heard of masters and slaves in the original terminology it came from.

    Alternatives:

    Primary / Secondary
    1 / 2
    0 / 1

    eg CD-Rom on Secondary IDE as Primary
    CD-Rom on Secondary IDE as 1
    CD-Rom on Secondary IDE as 0

    Or maybe just look up in the Thesaurus for alternate words for Master and Slave

    King / Subjects
    President / Electors
    Master / Not Master
    Yes / No
    Boss / Worker

    Someone here at work suggested Husband and wife but didn't say which was which.

    I wonder what it means in terms of me being called Mr Nix and my son being called Master Nix

    Surname changed to protect the innocent.

    Maybe it's just the Master / Slave combination.

    I guess it would be a major faux pas to point out that the slave drive is daiseyCHAINED to the master drive? I don't even want to coment on the whole Master Boot thingy.
