Where does one get a SERVICE manual?
Where could I get a SERVICE manual for my Toshiba Tecra 510CDT?
The Toshiba site has USER manuals available for download, but I want to learn how to take mine apart (without wrecking it).
Thanks.

Typically computers don't have a 'service manual'. You may want to familiarize yourself with a generic layout by familiarizing yourself with an A+ study guide.

Actually, many of the PC makers do have some kind of service manuals. I've got tons from Sony if PDF format for their laptops. Honestly, I've found a lot on Google. Otherwise, you might try someone that is authrorized to repair your brand laptop and see if there is such a thing for that particular laptop. Dell has pretty detailed information about all of their systems, but is only available to Dell techs. and authorized companies. Many of the service manuals are considered trade secrets, so you may have a hard time finding one if they don't just offer it to you. I know hp/Compaq can be finnicky about giving out their service manuals.
