Unwanted font changes in IE / OE in XP

G'day all. I have been asked this question by 2 people in the last couple of days - they download their email using IE and WinXP and the font has become larger when they go to read their email, and also when they go to print a copy of the email, a one page email will take up almost 2 pages because of the increased font sizes. Neither of them has changed any settings. One puter p4-1.8 Intel has been checked thoroughtly with uptodate virus defs and also latest trojans etc using SpySweeper with no problems. Any suggestions on what could be causing these changes or how to fix them ? I personally don't use xp, so don't know all the places to check for this problem. Any help would be apppreciated. Don't these gadgets make our lives so much easier....

I have solved the problem with the changes in font sizes etc. by going to the settings for the progs and doing a manual select on them. They seem to be working ok now on both puters. Still would like to know what originally caused this to happen - maybe just a M$ ghostie.
