    NSW Pro/NAV 2003

Has anyone had luck installing just NAV 2003 off the Norton Systemworks Pro 2003 CD?

All 5 machines I've tried it on (XP, w2k, 98) after the install I'd get a error message similar to "Internal program error, uninstall and reinstall NAV".

On one of the w2k machines, after uninstalling and reinstalling a few times I finally got it to refuse to boot. (I always ghost before installing anything Norton)

I finally tried installing the entire NSW's package on a 98 machine. Everything works fine. NAV included. So the 98 owner got the whole 9 yards whether he wanted it or not.

The only reason I buy the NSW pro CDs is it's so cheap. And all I want for myself and the machines at work is Ghost and NAV.

Has anyone found a trick to circumvent the necessity of installing the whole shebang?

All progs could be installed separately up to and including NSW Pro 2002.

    TIA

DVOM--This topic was discussed at length on another Forum, with the pertinent quote being
"NSW has a "selection page" like the one in Windows Office from which you can choose which components you want to install."

    Hope this helps.

Thanks Welshjim, my problem arose because in NSW 2000, '01, and '02 you could "browse CD" from the first screen, open the NAV folder and directly install the nav.msi file. This worked with all the programs.

Not so with NSW '03. As your suggestion has led me to learn, you've got to let NSW's installer do it for you.

What further led to my confusion is that the old method still works with Ghost 2003, which is the only other program I've installed off these NSW '03 CD's.

DVOM--Thanks for posting back. Glad to hear a suggestion worked. I just wandered across the other thread while surfing.
