Windows Update Site Down?
So has the Blaster.Worm been effective this weekend? I have tried several times at several different times today on several different computers to download anything from Windows Update. As soon as I click on OK the download begins and then 2 seconds later terminated. If I check the history of updates the page can't be displayed.
Please disregard this thread I found another thread on the XP forum <http://discussions.virtualdr.com/sho...hreadid=143795> which explains that the site has been closed.

Microsoft has discontinued use of one of its sites (Windowsupdate.com). The normal Windows Update site is still active and working.
http://v4.windowsupdate.microsoft.com/en/default.asp
Here is CNET's article on the subject.

Can't run\download any files from here either. Guess it just maybe too busy? Taking a page from the XP thread I looked for a Catroot2 folder but ofcourse 98 doesn't have one.

I just D/L'd from Windows 98 Windows Update site.
It automatically redirected address to:
http://v4.windowsupdate.microsoft.com/en/default.asp
It loaded and installed properly.
FYI.
