How to Change Printer Ports???
Hello Everyone!
I'm not sure if this is the right forum or not but hopefully the moderator will move it to the appropriate one if not.
This is on behalf of my room-mate who runs Window's 98SE. Last weekend we had to run a partial restore on her puter and had to install some things new again as a result. She has a HP puter and a HP Deskjet 960c printer. I've never had probs with installing printers or etc before but hers is all installed and updated drivers from HP and such. But in her properties for printer, it has her printer port still as LPT1. The printer has always hooked up via USB. Under capture printer post, only LPT's are listed. But....the first window selection which is labeled, "Print to the following Port." has the 960c printer selected, but if you scroll down, the printer port is still listed as LPT1.
I'm just needing to find out how to change this. On my own set up it was like a piece of cake but hers was screwed up from step one it seems. Her model was not listed in the add printer set up in control panel and it was just one thing after another. I had to go to HP site to get drivers as she didn't have a up to date disc anymore.
So....if anyone has any advice about how to change this in her printer properties, please let me know. I'll be very grateful!!!
