Second OT thread
Eariler this week I posted a thread about changes to technical support from the major manufacturers and got minimal response probably because I chose an incorrect forum. I'd lioke to widen the question to who actually provides better quality support and would you still be willing to pay for thier service once the warranty expires?

...got minimal response probably because I chose an incorrect forum. I think you got a great response for a thread less than a day old. Your original thread was asked in the correct forum.
I'd like to widen the question to who actually provides better quality support and would you still be willing to pay for their service once the warranty expires? Dell used to be @ #1 regarding their Tech Support, but my opinion is that no one holds that place! The majority of us that prefer to build our own PC's would never buy a service due to the fact that we/I believe we/I can do a better job. Even if I was to buy a new computer rather than build my own, I still wouldn't pay for a service that I don't need.

I agree.
Posted 20hrs, 25minutes before you posted this one.
Posted in the correct "on-topic" location.
This thread is hereby disqualified as this weekend's "Off-Topic" and if you want to comment on Calpitor's question, the original thread is still open for discussion in the Software forum. As with any thread of that nature, we keep an eye on it to make sure it doesn't denigrate into "x-brand" bashing without supporting evidence to back up opinion
So we're looking for a new Off-Topic (on a slightly lighter note than the Firearms discussion we had last weekend please).

the Local computer guy gets the best support!
we got a place called "The computer shack" it is cool and Jerry knows me.
He Puts up with alot of greef! there is one customer that keeps formating his Hard drive! and he sets his password in the bios, and he services it for no charge. that is alot of BS he puts up with, so I admire him.
