Need Help Please
I have 2 PC's on my home network. PC1 is running WinXP and is sharing its cable modem connection with PC2. PC2 is running WinME. Everything was working great. Unfortunately I had to reinstall WinME on PC2, I left all the connections intact and ran the wizards again. I got it working however PC2 has terrible internet speed and some sites, for instance Google, wont open at all. I cant even get a good response with a ping from the command line. I was able to get all the windows updates downloaded but it didnt help. I tried various browsers as well. Also PC1 has beautiful internet speed. What am I missing??

How are you sharing the cable modem? If you are using a router what kind?
Might want to check all your network settings.
CompFX
Also, FYI WinME is not a good OS. You might want to UPGRADE to any other version.

If you're using XP's Internet Connection Sharing, make sure your ME machine does not have 192.168.1.1 for an IP Address.....

I figured it out...There was an option on kb1...something about "dont ask for certificate if one or none exists", it was disabled. I enabled it, works perfect now.
