I have changed my Profile to reflect the spirit of VDR. See below.

A couple of things to keep in mind:
    1. Jupitermedia's Acceptable Use Policy (AUP) is applicable on all of their many other great discussions forums.
    2. The Administrators and Moderators here at VirtualDr did not create the rules contained in our AUP. If we do not uphold them however, we will lose our job.

Plenty of threads have been closed that have nothing to do with violating the rules (for example the one recently closed in this paricular forum)...so please spare us the linkage to Jupitermedia spiel.

The fact that you and others don't see that is part of the problem.

I really don't care one way or the other about the 'Maditudes' expressed on this board. But after reading the mentioned post I was inspired to change my signature.

Later in the day I got to thinking about it and a post I had on this particular forum some time ago.

I came to realize that it may very well be a good idea to loose the Feedback forum all together. It appears, in my opinion, that it is here for positive feedback or in reality as an "Off-topic' discussion board that only seems to anger the mods here.

I would recommend terminating this forum and in it's place have a board called "Suggestion Box" where replys are not allowed.

I think the end result would be mods not chasing valuable members away and feedback could be considered and/or implemented by the powers to be if deemed useful to the goal of the board itself.

Hey, thanks for making our point regarding moderator insolence.

You're the poster boy for change!

    Anarchyreigns and Report_2,

Thank you both for taking the time out of your busy schedules to give us your feedback.

But one little closed thread from a first time/one time poster about an illegal subject and you guys come unglued. Me thinks you have taken this way too seriously.

And then sitting back and playing arm chair quarterback is getting old. I would have thought by now you would have realized that it’s falling on def ears.

Let me warn you now. There’ll be more closed threads. It happens. The staff here uses our best judgment and on many occasions it goes against the grain.

Sure, I could have posted more info to the original new member. I really hadn’t planned on posting anymore to the guy nor did I have the time. While taking a few minutes break from my real job and waiting for an IRS agent to show up to do an audit, I popped in here for a few minutes to see how things were going.

And last but not least, when we get wonderful members like you guys second guessing us and criticizing us you’re going to see some 'Maditudes'. (ps. I really like that word, can I borrow it) The following pretty much sums it up.

"if you do not like they way things are done here at VDR, there are a lot of other help forums out there that you could join."

BJ and I and most of the staff have been here a long time and will continue to be here a long time. What you do and where you go to help out is your choice. Just leave the quarterbacking to us...
If you're happy and you know it......it's your meds.

I would have closed it. It was inviting info in violation of the forum rules.
His XP EULA would have explained about the license he just purchased and already had his answer, if bothered to read it.

Steve, Please re-read my post. I am not quarterbacking nor second guessing anybody. I am personally insulted by your subjective insinuation.
    I offered site feedback.

You are welcome to use the made up word (by my daughter when she was three years old) "maditude". I liked it too and finally got to use it.

Rules are designed to maintain order not just for wielding power.

What do you say to lightening up a tad?
