Hasn't 7.1 been out for a while now? Mine is bugging me to update to 7.2

I went to the netscape web site and 7.2 was not listed as a download. Has netscape improved? The last time I used netscape it's performance fell far short of IE or Opera.

There are still a few bugs here and there. One of the weirdest is that sometimes when trying to download a file, it tries to download it as a PPS (powerpoint) file! Don't know where THAT came from!

But it's a pretty good browser. I like the tabbed browsing and popup killer. I've tried IE based browsers like Crazy Browser, MYIE, Avant, etc., but I prefer Netscape.

What I'm planning to do though is uninstall Netscape and download Mozilla instead. Since Netscape is based on Mozilla, usage is pretty much the same. But Mozilla has a good bug reporting feedback system. Netscape help sucks.

    7.1, not 7.01

7.01 and 7.02 have been out for a while.

    7.1 is new.

    Thumbs up

The latest, greatest Netscape is, indeed, 7.1 and is available here: http://sillydog.org/narchive/ along with many other versions.

Ahh - I see Spiny - thanks! Do you know off the top how 7.1 has improved since 7.01/7.02?

Other than a spam filter, no.

    I intend to find out.

A few items have been moved around in context menus.
Two bugs which were annoying me seem to have gone.
There's a spam filter in Mail.

My favourite is the new "Mark as" sub menu in the message context menu in Mail. But then, I requested it.

    There may be more...

It seems to have a built in pop-up blocker,as I got asked if I wanted to block them when one popped up.

It's had that for a while. I think it's improved in this version.

The Spam filter is nice, but you have to train it.

I sometimes had BSODs on shutdown after using Netscape Webmail.
The other bug was button images occasionally opening in new windows instead of the page opening. Clearing the cache fixed it anyway.
