    Web Site Creation Software

On the theory that drudgery builds character, I built my web site using HTML. I have all the character I can stand now and want to try a WYSIWYG app. What do you recommend?

I've used FrontPage 2000 in the past and it does a pretty good job. That was the program I've used for at least 2 years. I've often wanted to try HTML Builder XP but never got the chance to use it. It seems like a pretty good one too. I just hand code them with HTML anymore.

JerryCTX - Nothing but praise for 1st Page 2000 from http://www.evrsoft.com/1stpage/
It's free but rivals big ticket programs like Dreamweaver for functionality and clean code.

Front Page is easy but puts out crap code, as well as using MS proprietary junk which is server dependent.... Yuk.

Just for the heck of it I tried the HTML Builder XP and it's by far better than FrontPage. I agree with Herring that FrontPage puts out a lot of junk. Lots of unnecessary tags when building and I always had to go into and make some editing.

Thanks all. I've downloaded Beauty and Builder and will also try 1stpage when their download server is available (at the moment both the primary and backup download sites are DOA).
