Usb2
Hello!!!!!!!!
I bought an Adaptec USB2 for notebooks with 2 USB connections.
It fit on the side of my laptop and installed with the CD.
Nevertheless, when i connected a USB2 device (a 40GB external drive) it recognized it only as USB & the device doesn't function as USB2.
Is there something else i need to install, change or add to the computer for it to recognize it??
Thank you,
Meital
P.S - my computer is a compaq 1714EA with windows xp.

Make sure you've got Service Pack 1 installed. SP1 includes USB2 support.

Hi..
USB2 is really kind of a dead issue tech wise. It originate with some beefed up usb cables but avg users found out the standard good quality cables did the same thing. Somewhere down the road usb2 was supposed to be faster than other hub tech interfaces but fizzled out.

Or go to Start>All Programs>Windows Update. Be warned, it's a very large download if you're on a dial-up connection.
