    Question Extracting .rar file

    I have a .rar file and I am at a loss on how to extract it. Could someone explain what I need to do with this type file
    Heard at a local auto-repair shop:

    Just another compressed file like a zip only with more options i.e. recovery if corrupt [provided its been enabled] and higher compression.
    Lots of decompressors available like winrar.
