    Question Wireless Network Install problem

    I am trying to install a Tew-221pc wireless adapter in my notebook and I have tried everything without any success. I have had some problems installing hardware devices in the past because win xp seems to take over and installs its own drivers instead of the ones on the divice disk and that's when I am lost. HELP VERY

    Little more info please!
    Is the wireless adapter in Hardware?
    Does it say it's working?
    Have you tried uninstalling and installing from the disk first?
    Do you have a signal?

    Oh, Pro or home?

    Something wireless shows up?
    It says that it is unavailable.
    Yes I have tried just about everything.
    No signal.
    Running Home.

    O.K. The reason I asked was. I have a cisco wireless and I have to enter my IP/dns/submask on the windows and then the cisco's side. Have You done this?

    If I didn't I would get "Wireless not Associated". Do you get something like it?

    Do you have a wirelss page on your network properties and is it set correctly i.e. for the name of connection and keys etc?
    Do you have a taskbar icon relating to the wireless network showing i.e. the network connection and does it have any indication it is activly searching?

    Have you configured your network hub correctly in respect of network name and keys?

    Are you using AD HOC mode or connect to local server [or what everits called]?

    Wireless

    What kind of Router and Card do you have??? it could be a conflict, I do not have to enter an IP address or a DNS.
    Memory 516 ram
    OS: Win 2000 Prof.
    Email: Outlook 2002

    This is all new to me. I have never set up any kind of network... I don't believe I can set up anything until my card is recognized?

    2. What kind of Wireless Access Point or Wireless Router do you have?

    Yes it is in the Device Manager
    I am trying to set up my notebook to share, printer, scanner, etc. I do not have cable internet.
    My Desktop is setup with a Belken F5D6050 Wireless USB Network Adapter.

    OK heres someting like what you should be seeing what needs configuring and where:













    Dependent on whether its a hub/router or another wireless device will depend on how you set it up.

    What exactly are you trying to attach your wireless adapter to? Do you have another system with a wireless adapter?

    Okay, so you want to use the Printer/Scanner/etc that is connected to your Desktop? Have you gone through the Networking Wizard on your laptop? Do you have both machines in the same Workgroup?

    I finally got wireless network working. I found that there is some conflicts with win xp and the included install disk. I still am confused on how I got it to work
