    Windows messenger annoying.

I am trying to disable windows messenger I went into the program and disabled it but sometimes my cousin IM's me and it still pops up even though it is disabled. It is annoying because sometimes I am playing a game and then the annoying sound coms and he pop's up with a IM and I supposly disabled the annoying thing but it still pop's up. There is no icon on my taskbar then he IM's me and it pop's up. How do I stop this pest of a windows messenger. When I wan't to run it I run it when I wan't to.

If these are instant messages by Windows Messenger then logging out of Windows Messenger will prevent you from receiving them. Although, if you're talking about the Messenger Service that appears containing an OK button then see the following link.

Rename the Messenger folder to MessengerOld. It won't bother you again and will probably speed up your mail program.
