NOW I AM REALLY ***** MY STINKING BROWSER FREEZED UP 4 COUNT THEM 4 TIMES FIRST TRYING TO COME HERE AND THEN TRYING TO VIEW PICTURES OF CATS. ***** I AM GOING TO BE THINKING ABOUT SWITCHING TO LINIX OR A MAC TO GET AWAY FROM THERE CRAPPY BUG RIDDEN PEACE OF CRAP BROWSER WHICH THEY CANT SEEM TO MAKE WORK RIGHT JUST KEEPS FREEZING UP.
I think I know what is causing it.
I looked and PartitionMagic was installed on Tuesday, April 15, 2003 at 5:50:36 AM and I got my first Interfreeze explorer on 4/15/2003 at 12:48 PM. I think partionmagic is causing the freezeup because before PartionMagic I only had a couple of notepad freeze ups when I tryed to open up big files.
Plus on 4/15/2003 at around 6am is when I partitioned my harddrive and created the new F partition.

Be vewy vewy quiet. I'm hunting wabbits.
I'll gwind your bones to make me bwead.
Twapped by his own twacks, he he he he.
I don't use Partition Magic, I use Partition Commander. It has an option to run from the CD instead of installing the program. I thought P.M did also. Why don't you just uninstall P.M and see if that cures your problem? No law saying you have to keep it on your HD.
Have you tried the IE Repair Tool?
Add Remove Programs, double click the IE6 entry, a window will open, select Repair, reboot when prompted.
If IE's files are corrupted you will be prompted to reinstall.
Or use System Restore and go back to the way it was, if you have a Restore Point.
Did you check/change the cluster size after you made the partition smaller?
512 MB - 8,191 MB clusters are 4 KB
8,192 MB - 16,383 MB clusters are 8 KB
16,384 MB - 32,767 MB clusters are 16 KB
32,768 MB and above clusters are 32 KB
Make sure those are right or you will be losing everything! That is for Fat32. If NTFS then run the IE repair tool. May want to do that if you using Fat32 also.
remember all those things that mark p62 suggested are good things and they are all from microsoft there are several browsers out there mozilla and opera they also work good. you dont have to use internet explorer

If I Ain't Crappie Fishin', I'm Thinkin' About It
listen with your eyes---its the only way to believe what you hear...
I'm not a big fan of M$ either, but I know from experience that about 95% of the problems I run into with my computer are caused by ME - doesn't matter if I'm using M$ or Linux......
It's usually a good idea to get the old brain rolling before you set the mouth (or in this case, the keyboard) in motion.......
I also use Partition Magic and have zero problems with this software.........
Just my 2¢ worth...............
Please post back so others can benefit also........

I am sorry I just was really angry because my browser was freezing up like 5 times in 1 minute when I was trying to view pictures of cats and I got really annoyed.
My stand on microsoft won't change it will never unless they can make programs more stable but I am sorry.
