qic80 under 2000 server?
I am trying to setup a small server for a friend using windows 2000 server and I have run into my first problem, one of the pieces of hardware that he wanted in there was a Colorado 250MB QIC-80 tape drive (with the floppy type connection) and I am unable to get windows 2000 to recognize that it is there, I have searched the MSKB but couldn't find anything.
He made it firm that he wanted the tape drive in there, otherwise I would of put a CD writer into it.
Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance.
Yuri.

Not supported in Win2k unless third-party backup software has compatible drivers. See 217051. Apparently, it is possible to get it to work using NT4 drivers and editing tape.inf but this can have the side effect of disabling your floppy drive. Time to buy something else.

Thanks Mulder, that is what I thought. I think that he is going to either have to buy a later tape drive or a cd burner.
Thanks
Yuri.
