Menu Speed setting not retained with TweakUI

XP-Home edition - In the mouse properties section of TweakUI for WindowsXP, I set the menu speed to the fastest setting, click “apply”, then “OK”. Everything is fine until I restart the computer, then it reverts back to the default setting. Now I realize that it states that it is a per-user setting, and as far as I know, there is only one user identity on my computer. Any guesses as to what the problem is? Thanks!

Just out of curiousity, is there any reason why you chose to use the TweakUI menu to set your mouse over the default Control Panel setting option?
I think the TweakUI may be a Dynamic setting which could default back at each boot, but please do not hold it against me if I am not correct. I'm sure someone else will have some input with this matter.

I'm not sure you what you meant. Are you asking why I'm changing the setting in the first place? If so, it is because I like the submenus to appear as quickly as possible.

Otherwise, if you're wondering why I went the TweakUI route to change the speed - well I guess it just comes down to, "I saw it, so I decided to try it." Is there another way outside of using regedit to change this setting?

Why not just go into your control panel and double click the Mouse icon and under the Buttons tab change your double click speed and the Click Lock which is basically the same thing you are trying to do in TweakUI.

Thanks for the suggestion, but I'm not trying to change my double-click speed, and I'm not trying to set the click-lock option. I'm trying to change the speed at which the submenus pop up one I pass the mouse over them. I had looked through the mouse properties options in the control panel, but I did not see anything regarding menu speed - at least nothing as explicitly given with TweakUI.
