some DOS questions
I've MS-DOS 6.22 on 3 floppies, inc the 'authenticity'/watermark card/sheet fr MS which contains what I assume to be the lic # at the bottom of the page.
I also have W's 3.11 on 6 floppies but w/o any lic # info.
These were gifted to me along w/a couple of long ago scavenged 486's, the HD's of which have been reformatted & so no longer provide ez or affordable access to the 3.11 lic # info.
Will the 6.22 lic # provide 'backward compatibility'/authorization sufficient to allow installation of the 3.11 disks?
TIA

Neither DOS nor Win 3.11 require any authentification to install.

TY for your reply. I did not know that. I would suppose that would be because, in part anyway, that was so long ago that many a PC did not then have www/net access for lic verification.
We've come a long way baby! It is quite amusing to see an MS sw EULA so concise as to be written on both sides of the envelope containing the floppies in lettering even these tired old eyes could read w/o recourse to reading glasses.
