Question How do you remove "Past Items" under "Customize Notifications"?

I have a long list of items that show under the "Past Items" area that I haven't used in months. How do I remove those entries?

Never mind, I found out how. For those interested, here's the directions.

How To Remove Past Items From the Notification Area.
    (apply this reg file)

Once done, Open Task Manager, click the Processes tab, click Explorer.exe, and then click End Process. In Task Manager, click File, click New Task, type explorer, and then click OK.

you can install StyleXP here which will not only apply themes, but logon screens and bootgui screens as well as wallpaper.

This site also features custom screens and XP themes you can install:

    sameer_47,

I don't use StyleXP or WindowBlinds, those cost money. What I use is a modified uxtheme.dll file. After replacing the original uxtheme.dll file with the modified one on XP, you can download any theme that will work with StyleXP without buying anything. When you download a new skin for XP, you place it in the C:\WINDOWS\Resources\Themes folder.

Really easy, and it works better than WindowBlinds, I always have one item that conflicts with WB, that's why I prefer doing it the uxtheme.dll way.

Thanks emptyt, looks as if you found one. There are different ways of do this, other than the directions given on that site, but the first option is the easiest.

You can download skins from www.themexp.org there are several other sites too. After you placed the skin file in C:\WINDOWS\Resources\Themes folder, you can just double click the theme file to apply it.
