    Try a different mouse.
If it works, then dump yours.

I agree, it does sound like the mouse itself. Ther's no harm in uninstalling and re-installing the Intellipoint driver, though, just to be sure it isn't a driver problem.

It just goes to show how peoples' tastes vary - I love my Intellimouse Explorer Optical, it's the nicest mouse I've ever used.

Check the socket the computer is plugged into. I read where one person had a crazy mouse everynow and then and it was the power coming from the wall socket. i guess it would fluxuate enough to just make the mouse go crazy. Might not be the answer, but just one more thing to try. Good Luck.

I love my MS Intellimouse too! I used to have the Logitech optical mouse, but couldn't stand the fact that at certain times the mouse cursor would flicker. I've tried 5 different driver packages and 2 different OS's and still the same thing. It even does this on my parent's computer on a fresh install. I like the fact that the wheel on the Intellimouse feels more sturdy than the Logitech mouse which feels too light, but what can you say for $20.

I'm just the oppose, I love my logitech optical mouse. Have been using it for over a year now without a problem. My son uses the same mouse on his machine at home, and a small travel optical mouse on his labtop.

M$ to me is just too expensive for what you get. Headaches.

    cheers mac
If computers are so smart, why don't they just fix themselfs??
