EZTrust AV Version 6.1.3.1
Hi,
I just received an e-mail from Tech support advising the latest build for EZ Trust AV is version 6.1.3.1 and advising that I install that over 6.1.1.2 (since I'm having auto-download problems). Is anyone aware of this new version and has anyone tried it yet?
I'm reluctant to try it without getting a heads up.
Sincerely, Nancee

Haven't received a notify of the new version update from eTrust yet. But my 6.1.1.2 has been giving me no problems. Could they have mailed you "because" you've had difficulties i wonder?
Will just have to wait and see if they send out a general notification i 'spose...
Stupid question? No such thing!

Hi Ridge,
I'm sure they recommended I install the new version since I can't use the auto-update with 6.1.1.2. But I don't really think this is an EZTrust problem...I'm having a problem accessing certain sites with standalone IE and I think it's tied to that.
I don't know what I'll do.

Hi Nanceel0,
I've upgraded my computers to 6.1.3.1. One Win98Se, the other XP pro. Did it over the old versions..auto-download works okay...both machines running fine.
Gotta go pack!

I just upgraded to 6.1.3.1 and autodownload now seems to work OK. Guess it was a bug in the earlier version.
Who is General Failure and why is he reading my disk?

Hi,
I just upgraded (and left AOL running so I could run auto-update while it was setting up) it still brought me to http.//download.My-etrust.com and I got the "invalid response" and no update. I have IE, but I changed it to "use no proxy" and I still couldn't update. I ended up rebooting the computer and after trying again, I manually downloaded it from the ftp site.
The EZTrust techs previously told me my browser was putting me to the old site. I don't know how I can control what site it goes to.
Sincerely, Nancee

Nancee,,Think i'd give serious thought that it may be an AOL problem... Perhaps other AOL users will be along with some info hopefully...

Nancee, can you use another browser other than the AOL thingy and see how that works?
BTW, I have a friend who says computer h--- is having McAfee, WIN ME and AOL on the same system.
I bet this post will upset somebody.....but it's all in fun! But I seriously am glad none of those three are on my puter...

Hi Ridge and LeBoule,
Yes, it is definitely AOL - I'm running an old version (5.0), they're latest version is 8. A week ago I tried out another IP (AT&T Worldnet) and I have absolutely no problems using the auto-update if I connect with that! The EZTrust techs e-mailed me that there was no problem with the
proxy server and recommended I upgrade to a newer version of AOL. My daughter uses AOL to contact all her friends so changing IPs went over like a lead balloon. I'm a little hesitant to jump to AOL 8, I've heard good and bad about it - so that's where I stand now.
I wonder why EZTrust released another new version. I didn't get any notice about this one. I'm still running 6.1.3.1.
If anyone reading this can recommend a stable version of AOL, I'd appreciate hearing about it.
Sincerely, Nancee
Edit: LeBoule, I just read the other thread you linked. You DO seem to be a prophet!!

Think a "stable" version of AOL is kind of an oxymoron But i've read in many places that vers. 5 is/was nothing but trouble. So i suppose "any" upgrade may be better?!

Thanks for your thoughts Ridge. I guess you're right on both counts.
