I whacked this enquiry originally in Hardware but got no response. The computer in question is a Toshiba Satellite 1410. I was print screening a desktop image and when I placed the image in MS Paint, I noted I had two screens. When the XP Pro screen saver starts, the XP symbol disappears, presumably into this ‘second’ screen and then reappears. I am using 1024 x 768 resolution, the display list states: Toshiba internal 1024 x 768 Panel on NVIDA Gforce 420. I have no idea what is happening, I can obviously only see the left screen but I note that I can loose the cursor into this ‘second’ screen. Any ideas?

I'm not sure if this will help but here goes.
Yes, if your window you are trying to take a printscreen image of does not cover your whole screen/desktop. You will get two screens, your image and the background of your desktop.
I use irfanview to paste my screen shots in, then crop out what I don't want. Get the plug ins also and you have a whole range of options with this neat little program.
Had a couple of extra dramas w/ this thing so I back dated to another restoration point, the two screens have gone! Who knows, go figure!
Cheers all,

Pressing only the Print Screen key will copy the entire display to your clipboard. If you press Alt-Print Screen, it will only copy the window that currently has the focus.
Yep, my laziness, I’m aware of the of the key combinations et cetera. The problem was, my screen was literally twice as wide as normal. If one gets ones mouse and go to the top, left, bottom or right of the screen, one can see it literally stop at the end of the screen, still seeing the cursor, I could continue past the normal limit on the right of my screen. The XP symbol in screensaver which normally bounces around and within the screens limits from random place to place would disappear into this next screen. Anyway, thanks for the replies, I now have the physical boundaries of the right hand side. If you wish, have a look at the attachment, to see the changes now.
