at first i thought it might be the gpu so i re installed old rivers with no avail!
i have also tried system restore to an earlier date also which didnt work either!

I have plugged the cd rom and dvd rom into ide 2 and the hard drive into ide 1, and have also sorted the master and slave jumpers on the drives,
I have double checked i have no loosened any plugs on the mobo.
Im out of ideas what it could b?

My pc runs fine until i try a game etc,

    any help welcome!
    Cheers

Now the only thing that comes to mind is that I had to make sure that my round cables were IDE ATA-100/133 for my system, other stuff was not an option, have you checked the code for your cables...

    god knows what is up?

I cant understand what the problem is?

I have virus checked, disk cleanup, disk defrag, re seated everything! cleaned everything inside using compressed etc, i have also unplugged everything and then plugged it all back in just to b sure!

Was dvd drive a replacement or a new piece of equipment?

If it was a replacement, did you remove the old drive?

Even so, what I'd do is to uninstall the dvd drive, then re-install it. It looks like your drivers are either corrupted or installed wrong.
    Hope this helps.
