850 amd athlon
512 mb ram

Running cursor xp plus, when I put the system into standby mode and come back to the comp after a while , when it comes out of standby I cannot use the mouse !. Have to hard reboot.
Is this a common problem? or is there a workaround?


Re;xp antispy...used the recommended settings and have had numerious system crashes...returned all to system default and all is ok. Has anyone else had these probs?

Re: Outlook Express and messenger...how do I disable messenger from starting up when I open Outlook Express?

I can only help with the Outlook Express question. In OE, go to Tools>Options>General tab and uncheck "Automatically log on to Windows Messenger."

If that doesn't do it, you can find the WM folder and rename it. Be aware, though, that doing that sometimes slows OE's opening waaaay down while it tries to launch something it can't find.

I took a look at AntiSpy...even downloaded it to see what it'd do...but I'd already used the list at Black Viper's site to turn off unneeded services and haven't had any problems. It may have taken the half hour that the AntiSpy site says it takes but the performance improvement I got is well worth the time.

I download but haven't installed CursorXP. Other than the coming-out-of-standby mode possibly caused by the program(I don't use standby, so that won't be an issue), have you encountered any problems running CursorXP?

Will do the outlook thing tonight.
Cursor xp plus is great as you can configure it to have blue balls!!!!!!!!.....and explosions etc...no pun intended!

Have done Black Vipers safe config, freaked out when I could;nt find my network connections ! but soon worked it out.

just a bit paranoid re xp antispy!.....Ihave learnt the hard way that with all these "tuneup" progs can cause more harmthan good

Have had to reformat several times due to progs that mess around with things that may be ok on one comp but not another!
