The "Links" bar in IE 6.0
Hi Folks,
I see how one can export/import Favorites and Cookies, but I see no way to easily copy my Links bar configuration (located just below the Address bar), from one machine to another. Here is a graphic of a portion of mine.
Is there a file that contains this info that I can simply copy over to my new machine? Thanks!
Happy Computing!

Forgive my stupidity, friends. I see now that the IE View, Toolbars menu, Lock The Toolbars was checked. By taking that off, I can now pull the Links bar down below the Address bar. All of my entries are there, although it looks like I'll have to select my custom icons again. Not a biggie. In a few minutes, I'll have it like I want it!

Limerick--Whether you have a Links toolbar or not, Links are one of the folders in your Favorites and it and its individual shortcuts can be exported with all the rest of your Favorites.

Many thanks for the reply, WJ. This is an area that I've never learned much about, and I can see now how the Links info is indeed a part of the Favorites info. I've got my Links bar looking like I want it now, and I'm sitting here smiling wide enough to eat a banana turned sideways!

Yeah,,i personally leave the links folder pretty much alone. With over 1,300 favs all sorted in folders, i find it much easier to get to what i want that way. If i stuck all the sites i refer to on a regular basis in the links folder and had them show below the address bar,i'd have to squint to see my web page...
Stupid question? No such thing!

Ridgerunr--I suspect I agree. But you can put the Links bar on the same line as, say, the Address bar, and all the links that don't fit fall into a drop down menu to the right (showing only >> on the Links bar until you click on it). Does not really add much to just having the link in Favorites.
