System sounds not working in XP Pro
I'm having problems with my system sounds in XP Pro. It happened all the sudden. I turned on my computer one day, and it DIDN'T play the start-up sound. And also, whenever Windows Messenger started, and said I hade email in my account, instead of playing the normal sound, it just went "DONK" And whenever I get email through Outlook, it always goes "DONK" instead of playing "notify.wav" I went to the sounds thing in the Control Panel, and I reset ALL of them. And that didn't fix the problem. I also make a brand new folder, and put copies (not shortcuts) of all the files in there, and I changed the dirrectory of where the sounds are. Please help me on this problem. It REALLY bugs me! Thanks A LOT!
