People thinking of getting ADSL in uk Please read!!!

    Hi guys,

I have noticed that some of these "self install , plug and surf and wires only" packages are charging you well over the top for your modems and microfilters i have seen £80 for the usb modem and £6.99 - £9.99 for the microfilters .

Well i have seen these microfilters for £1.50 inc vat and the modems start for £25.99 for the external and £26.99 for the internal one also the routers are pretty cheap.

    Hope this helps mike

I needed a DSL filter in a hurry a while back so I went to PC World for one (a place I normally avoid like the plague ). Sit down before you read this - £17.99. Rip-off merchants

I bought a D-Link DSL-504 Modem / Router from ebuyer for about £90 or so - it's vastly better than the Alcatel USB modem that I had before, and now when I build my next PC for the bedroom I can easily network them together and share the Internet connection.

Just going a bit off topic here but I've heard some pretty bad things about E-buyers customer service, what's your experience?
    I LOVE YOU!

In my case I had no problems when I last used them, but like you I've heard a few horror stories about them. I'd have to think hard about using them again.

    My favourite online suppliers are:

    www.overclockers.co.uk

    www.komplett.co.uk

    www.dabs.com

I've also heard good things about these 2 but I haven't tried them yet:

    www.simply.co.uk

    www.scan.co.uk

    "£17.99"

If you need any more supersparks I`ll sell you some cheap ones for 15 pounds
I got a nice ADSL modem with 4 port router from Dabs good value too,BT Alcatel frogs suck and cause more system problems than anything.
