    USB Hub

    Hi,

I have a question regarding USB hubs. I am installing DSL and am instructed that I must plug my DSL USB directly into my computers port, and not a hub or periphreal. My system is a laptop, and I have only 2 USB's and no Ethernet. Currently both USB's are being used for an external hard drive and external cd burner.
Here's my question. I plan to install the DSL direct to one port and a hub to the other. That means I will have to plug both burner and drive into the hub. I notice in both my manuals that it doesn't say anything about not using a hub, but it also says to plug direct into the computer port. Will I be okay installing these(burner & drive) into the hub? Also, will I have any future problems with the system identifying drive letters for the two units?
Thank you very much in advance for any help you can give me. It would be greatly appreciated.

    Dave

It should be fine to use the hub for the USB drive and burner but I'll use a self-powered (ie w/ AC adapter) instead of a bus-powered hub. In general you'll have less potential problems this way.
