The end of BIOS?
Who will mourn the demise of BIOS?
It certainly seems like its' days MAY be numbered

Now that will really be a BIG change for many computer enthusiasts, won't it? Just shows us again that there is nothing as constant as change, albeit sometimes it's slow in happening...

Uh OH! First DOS, now BIOS.
What's a person to do when their existing MBoard goes kerflunk.
Looks like they are going to force us into the 21st century whether we like it or not. Most of us kicking and screaming, I dare say.

Sure a very interesting outlook. Though I'm not quite sure on the reserved HD usage EFI will require. We shall see I guess.
...and what am I gonna do with all my collections of BIOS tweaks and tips ??? After some 20 years I finally understand 15% of the BIOS functions and now I gotta give that up ? ...
Nimo N152B (AMD R5, W11H) and plenty of other legacy systems :-)

Compaq and HP have that concept already, it is called a soft BIOS. And Boy oh boy are people going to get into all kinds of troubles! As if we do not see enough of that already. 
Still, like the idea though.
