    Cleaning out temp sys files

I recently took a look at these files (C:Windows/Temp)and found there to be a huge amount of items in the folder. Other than the cookies folder can all these files(folders) be deleted or will that cause a problem?
I am down to under 4 gigs of a 20 gig hard drive and though I have alot of editing software on this drive there is no question in my mind that it has shrunk considerably in the last few months. I do run a second 100 gig drive for clips from my editor and I clean up with Norton System Works regularly.
    Any help is appreciated

The "generic" answer is yes, you can delete them. Most programs use the temp folder and are "suppost" to delete the files when done. When in doubt, move them to another folder for a period of time. If no problems pop up, delete away.
If you're happy and you know it......it's your meds.

Well , that created it own set of problems causing me to do a system restore to get back up and running with the loss of only a few programs I can reinstall.
I though I might run delindex to help and clean out some of the unwanted and unneeded files I was trying to get rid of to start with but I am having a bit of trouble comprehending exactly how it is supposed to be used. I have no desire to trash anything else and could use a clear explanation of installation and use of this program if anyone has the time and inclination to be of assistance.

Here are the instructions for the program from the site~~~~~~~To Use: type c:\delindex from any drive or any folder. (Adding ".bat" is not necessary.) Press enter. (This takes you to a startup screen and doesn't delete anything.) If you get a "bad command or filename" message, click on the "Troubleshooting" link below.

It also (elsewhere)says to use a boot disk . Where is it that I would use the disk ? prior to running the program ? any help will put me ahead of where I am now:0)
    Thanks : KennJ
