Question Latest Version Of Internet Explorer?

I have this little question, which is the latest version of Internet Explorer???
I am a man who walks alone
And when I'm walking a dark road
At night, or strolling through the park
When the lights begins to change
I sometimes feel a little strange
A little anxious when it's dark

Small correction Internet Explorer 6,SP1(service pack 1). It's not a "service pack",it's a full installation...
    Stupid question? No such thing!

Sex-Machine--Click Help|About Internet Explorer. If the Version line reads 6.0.2800.1106, and the Update Versions line reads SP1, you have the latest. However, there are several patches even for this. The latest is
    http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/...47/default.asp
However, it might be easiest to see what others are recommended as Critical by MS at your Windows Update site.

Then,,if we want to really get picky,,be sure to get the patch for the patch. Read down the page that Welshjim gave for this one "813951"...Will it ever end?

Here's how Woody Leonhard ("Woody's Windows XP" newletter) described the latest situation with MS03-004:

"Seems there's a leeeeetle bug in the MS03-004 patch. Sounds like nobody tested it with MSN e-mail.

Doesn't surprise me. Sure, Microsoft techs have to eat their own dog food. But forcing them to use MSN e-mail? It's just too gross to contemplate."

FYI........Here is the Drill.......IE 6 is for XP users. It is not very friendly with anything else. If you have other than XP, then use IE 5.5 SP 2 and you are good to go. I have checked with some Radio PC Gurus and this is what all your Techs are suggesting as well. That IE 6 was designed for XP users. It is a shame that MS does not tell you this. Especeally when you go and do your Windows Updates, It shows that you need to download the IE 6 SP 1. DON'T DO IT. REMOVE it first then download and install the remaining updates. Just some friendly advice here. You all have a good day........................Harley

I have had IE installed since i was running 98SE with no difficulties at all. I have since Up(down)graded to Windows ME and have yet to have problems with IE 6, wish i could say same about Win ME.
Maybe i was just lucky , but i never ever experienced probs.

Same here, (but still running Win98SE and IE6). As I understand it, the patches are to prevent hackers from getting into your machines.

    I could be wrong.

If you've never had any problems, then, probably, no one has ever hacked your computer.

No problems with me, either, except for a mysterious Windows Update screen that appeared on my IE6, which hung my computer. Posted the problem, and first reply was from some dingbat that said, "Chuck Mielke, I've never had that problem." Boy, talk about helpful replies!! (sarcasm/TIC mode off)
