 Mac?
Am.. I'm really sorry if I'm flooding around here, but what do you mean by MAC? I never heard of such a thing before! Please explain! Thank you very much!

They mean a Apple Macintosh ,
a macintosh is a one button mouse , waste of space , wannabe pc 
but very nice looking..
no only joking Mac is a personal computer but not ibm compatible (standard pc's) and are only produced by apple and they run a operating system called mac os not compatible with windows programs and visa versa (unless emulators used).
They are usually used by musicians and graphic artists as they believe that they are quicker.
i personnaly dont use macs so cant really say how good they are i have used one a couple of times (Imac) no blue screens but no right click  .

Hehe, thanks a lot for the good information! Ok when you said "Mac is a personal computer, but not ibm compatible", does that have to do anything with notebooks!
Ok I got the part for the musicians and the artists, but the one mouse click part, I can't quite understand this!
By the way can you install anything on this PC wannabe? Like programs, games.. etc.?

hey there ... I use both pc(ibm)and mac platforms and find them both very good depending on what you want to do...(I use a wireless optical intellimouse explorer mouse by microsoft with drivers provided by microsoft on mac osX.2.3 , and all 5 buttons work great) I wouldn't recomend using a single button mouse .. for the average user I would say that is apples biggest mistake (a one button mouse) anyway if you would like to see and maybe use a mac try looking for an apple store or compusa they seem to have them out and ready to try.... be careful of mac or pc fanatics
they will only give you one side if the story each... I am also a fanatic, I like computers of all types.. started with pc (ibm) and recently got a mac to learn and I love them both... we'll see what's next...

Wait a sec. does that mean that you can have both of them inside one working thingi(PC...wahtever you may call it)???
Like, for example, you can split your PC on two parts. 1 is XP, the other 1 is Millenium Edition!

yes you can have multple operating systems on one machine...some work well together and some don't... macintosh operating systems are made for macintosh hardware.. I have windows 2000 running on an external harddrive using virtual pc
(emulator) it runs well.. try a search for dual boot and you will see some of the combinations..I have
windows ME and XP on my pc

for the average user I would say that is apples biggest mistake (a one button mouse)
On this subject I did read a post in another forum from a MAC tutor who explained it was simpler to teach the use of a mouse on a MAC rather than a PC as you only have one button to press

that is a good point.. My 2 almost 3 year old son has some trouble with my microsoft optical intellimouse (wired) so I disabled all of the other buttons until he gets old enough that I can teach him about the other 4.. he is quite the natural.. I usually put his programs and favorite websites (bob the builder, nick jr.......)in the start menu of XP...I meant that apple offering only the one button mouse seemed like a mistake to me. but that doesn't stop one from buying a seperate mouse as I did

I started out with MAC's and ever since my 1st PC the first thing I always do with any PC I have used is to put all the desktop icons to the right hand side just as they are by default in a MAC's Finder. It's much more ergonomic this way (assuming you're right-handed.) With a default Windows desktop you'll find yourself twisting your wrist trying to get to those icons.
I even do that when I use someone else's PCs ... at first they all complaint but soon enough they all see the wisdom in it.
Just a little MAC-PC tidbit.
