Question AutoHide Favorites in IE6 and Full Screen Mode

I’m using my new computer with Windows XP Home sp1 and IE 6 sp1. I like browsing with the “full screen” mode (F11), and one of the things that I have noticed which is different from the past is that the autohide feature for the favorites on the left side of the screen now has to be enabled every time I open up a new browser window. In other words, I have to click on the pushpin icon each time so that it rotates on its side for the autohide feature to kick-in. Is there a setting that I can use that’ll have that pushpin on its side automatically each time I open up a browser window? I’ve tried closing the browser window while holding down the shift key to try to “remember” the window settings, but it doesn’t work.

Also, is there a way to have a window open in full screen mode when I click on a link to launch a second window? I tried holding down the shift key while closing to remember the setting, but it didn’t work for that either. Thanks!

Thanks for the link, but I don't think I want to toy around with the registry. The bigger issue for me is the autohide feature, which wasn't a problem when I had Win98se with IE6 (no service pack1).
