Descent III
Have a client that has a PIII 500 64 megs of ram, S3 trio 3d video & SB audio.
Having a problem with erratic mouse movement in Descent III only. Mouse works fine in all other apps & games. I cleaned it just in case.
I uninstalled Descent & reinstalled it & loaded the 1.4 patch from the inteplay site. Same problem
Anyone have any ideas?

Think it might be in the mouse acceleration settings in the game? Or have you already checked that?

I already tried both suggestions. Thanks
The mouse tracks fine through the intro screens in the game. As soon as new game or existing game is selected it is erratic. I wonder if it might be the cd itself??

Updated the mouse drivers yet?
ALso try changing the screen resolution or size, or detail level within the game. High detail sometimes makes a major difference in performance. Lower it to medium.

OK, what happened PC, I've been wondering about this one. Get it fixed? And if so, what was it?

It doesn't seem that you're alone with this problem. Here's a post from the interplay site:
http://feedback.interplay.com/descent3/msg1/10358.html
It seems other gamers were successful with older versions of descent by fiddling with the resolution.
I've never played that game though.
I find when I have game probs, the developers website as well as fan sites are the most likely place to find an answer to my probs.
dan.
