Digital camera woes...
I have a Samsung DIGIMAX 340 Digital camera but can't get the thing to work..!!
The drivers are installed as well as the imaging software. Every time i turn on my camera to USB, windows recognises it, makes the USB sound, the removable drive pops up under My computer but whenever i click on it it says "The request could not be performed because of an I/O device error" Does anyone know what this means and help..?? The imaging software should also start automatically but doesn't either
I have a scanner plugged in the USB port next to it which runs fine. I have winXP pro.
Thanks

Hi dannyk, Most of us digicam users go and buy a Card Reader..More money to spend/waste I know but it is better in the long run n less hassle..Don't use XP at moo, but might do in next 48hrs...Have been told to see if XP recognises your usb camera with it's own drivers first, cause that sometimes works....Worth a try in it...If it dont work then Re-Install camera drivers...
In the meantime perhaps someone else will pop in with correct answer......Off to try n solve another prob with my system....
Good Luck....Dennis...

Thanks for the reply, Dennis
Uninstalled all the drivers & re-installed.
Achieved another step...
Now my imaging software automatically boots & it recognises how many pictures are on my camera but doesnt show them, just the jpeg symbol. I can also click into my e drive but there is nothing there......
When i use the Windows Scanner & camera wizard it also shows how many phots i have but doesnt show them either & comes up with errors when i try to transfer them to the PC
Any more suggestions...!!!???

Hi Dannyk, that's stumped me now...Rather Frustrating when this happens...I would do this------Into Safe Mode, Uninstall Drivers, restart, check to see that drivers are gone, Re-Install....
Or you can go here, (not sure if theres a Samsung forum there)(I'm in Fuji Forum),
and ask your Question....It does have a question answer forum, Very Good Forum for ALL Digi Cameras.....
http://www.dpreview.com/ Go left of screen, hover mouse pointer over Forum, chose n orf ya go.....
Let us know if you solve it....Will repeat this though...If you got some cash to spare go an buy a Card Reader, better than reading from Camera.... regards, Dennis...
