    hey Im happy
    I have seen an issue im asking more than Carter has pills
    Multiple systems
    mine too
    clean loads of windows 95 & 98 or not
    many times at random
    It has done it on mine twice for no reason
    why does Outlook Express 5 change the POP3 server to 127.0.0.1?
    I see this frequently
    This has happened 12 times now - 2 at random
    on mine for no reason
    95 98 no mas
    I get calls on this issue all the time
    Why?
    Im saving the stuff. I have a good one for ya all

    As an afterthought dont ask
    I been there
    I get a call I cant get my emial, its the same thing every time
    POP3 only changes its 127.0.0.1 at random
    lets it keep the explanation shorter than a presidential brief ok?

    Doesn't Mcafee and/or Norton AV set up a localhost proxy to scan email on the pop3 server? Any connection?

    fink hit the nail on the head. 127.0.0.1 is a proxy server between you and your email server so norton can scan your email. If your email client is not set up this way, you are not protected against email viruses.

    I suggest doing a search for "email configuration" in Norton Antivirus help file to learn more.
