Problems importing audio track using WMP 9

Hi everyone, I have just recently updated my Windows Media Player to the latest version, version 9 and can no longer copy music from an audio cd to my hard drive as I could before, now I get the following error when I attempt to do so "windows media player encountered un unknown error".

I am attempting to copy the music by using the "Copy form CD" option and selecting the certain songs by ticking the selection boxes and clicking the copy button, at this point the error will occur.

I am using windows ME and have all the updates from the microsoft website. Any ideas on how to solve this would be appreciated.

in the Microsoft wmp newsgroup. There are lots of people posting about problems with wmp9... perhaps there's a fix there other than going back to the previous version.
