How To Delete Other Administrators?
Good Evening All
I read an earlier post that I've been wondering about. I have XP Home edition and I too have been wondering how to get the sign on box to go away that asks for a password. I bought this computer from a friend who only had it for a short time. In the box it's always just had owner as the name and under password, it's always been empty. I've never had to enter a password but just click on either OK or CANCEL. I cannot remember just now. I read on the earlier post about deleting other users and I went under users in control panel and I'm listed as the Computer Administrator and then there is a GUEST user which I cannot seem to delete and then there is another ADMINISTRATOR I cannot delete. It says it is there in case no other user is listed and it needs to be started in safe mode. I also right clicked on START button and Classic button is already clicked. Is there anything else I can do to get this statup box to vanish? It's not a big deal and I can live with it, but I guess I would just rather it would go away. LOL
Thanks for you help! Anyone who wants snow.....give me your addy...here outside of Kansas City, it's coming down hard!

go to control panel and add your account, disable or shut off guest with your account it will be your name and password or no password, if you are the only account it should just boot right to desk top.

Thanks jman! I'm not sure what you mean when you say go to control panel and add my account. In the control panel and under user accounts, My name is listed under Computer Administrator already. The guest function is turned off but all I can do with it is turn it on. I'm apparently having a "blonde" moment here...Is there any way you can reply once more explain it once more. I know quite a bit about computers but this XP has me all boggled. LOL
Thank you so very much jman!

i misread your first post, you currently have 2 accounts showing in user options, yours with admin. rights and a guest account that is turned off. correct? it you go to user accounts in control panel and click on your account and when that opens click on remove password (but if i understand the first post, you dont have a password correct?) then xp should just boot right to desktop i suppose this could vary with oem's or a true m@ version of xp, but one of the 3 machines i have here at home is set up like that and the welcome screen pops up for a second or 2 and just goes to desktop.

Thank you jman! No problem for the mis-reading.... I don't explain things in the most clear way either! You have a good evening!
