video playback problem
I installed a file called DVD Region Killer. It notified me it made changes to my system (!! what, I do not know) and afterwards al video playback from all my players (DVD, Windows Media, Quicktime, etc.) does not show the full image. It only shows the center portion of the screen. Like a big frame is blocking a lot of the image around the edges. I removed and installed the video card and drivers, upgraded to Windows Media Paalyer 9 (hoping it would reset what was corrupted or changed), and uninstalled the DVD Region Killer app. Nothing helps. Any hints before I have to reinstall my whole OS??? Thanks.
PS - Service pack 3 is installed so even an OS reinstall might not help???=((

I'm not sure this is it, but fire up Regedit and go to HK_Current_User>Software>Microsoft>Media Player>Video Settings. Mine just has Default...value not set, if yours says anything different that amy be the problem.
Nick.

problem solved
how to fix this WIERD problem:
I had to open an application that "enabled" me to play with my OVERLAY CONTROLS in my GF4 control menu: right click the desktop, settings tab, hit advanced, go to GF4 tab, hit additional properties, go to overlay controls tab, toggle enable video ovrlay zoom (wont allow you to toggle this unless you have an app open with zoom functions...)
Then right after I toggled enable zoom on and off and the problem went away - read: corrupted registry value...
Sheesh. THANX ROB!!!! (and I thought boorther in laws were useless, jssut kidding...)
