powerdvd install
has anyone ever had problems installing Powerdvd in XP?? I've never had problems when I had Win2k, but today I clean installed XP Pro and it won't let me install the oem version of Powerdvd XP. It claims that there isn't a support file within the installer and undoes the install. Same thing happens when I try to install WinDVD.
XP won't even install Powerdvd in safe mode...says the same thing.

Which version of PowerDVD? Anything less than 4.0 is not supported.

I'm using Powerdvd XP 4.0 oem version. Really weird that it says that the support files are not contained in the install. It just refuses to install both in normal and safe mode.

please disregard this post. Figured out that the Windows Installer service was disabled by default and after enabling it and setting it to Automatic, programs load like a breeze!

actually Windvd won't work with my system since I use a SBLive5.1 card...apparently Windvd has problems when using a SBLive or Audigy card. So I have to remember the next time I clean install XP to go into services and enable the Windows Installer service at bootup.
