MSI Ti4200 VTD8x card
Is anyone using this videocard?? I was wondering why I can't use the drivers from nvidia's site because all I get is a black screen with small white dots at the top. The only way to properly see the desktop is to use the drivers from the cd which are version 3100. I have an old Gainward GF4 mx440 64mb card that can use Nvidia's drivers without any problems.
Is there a slight chance that the videocard is defective?? It's new and only been used once since December 29th of last year..

Installed the most current DirectX version prior to driver installation?
Cheers.

I'm currently running Directx 8.1 that came with XP. If I update to SP1, the card will not work with the drivers from the cd. It acts the same way if I use Nvidia's 40.72 drivers. Is there something wrong with the card or can it only use the drivers from the cd??

***PLEASE DISREGARD THIS POST***
turns out it was a defective card....replaced it plus used the newer 41.09 nvidia drivers as I learned that the 40.72 are Detonator and don't work with the newer Titanium 8x cards as they use a different architecture. Now everything's running smoothly as I can adjust the resolution as well as the refresh rates with no problems!!!
