" How Do You Download Music Files From The Internet?

Please help - I want to download music files from a site on the Internet to a file or to Windows Media Player or directly to my CD burner so that I can make a CD-R to play in my car.

Last night I downloaded about 50 tunes to my file folder called " Downloaded Files " on my C drive and when I looked the files were there but I didn't have any success in transferring the files to Windows Media Player or when I opened my Roxio 5 Easy CD Creator and hit the source " Downloaded Files Folder " I had to click on the drop-down list and hit ALL FILES before I could see the 50 tunes that were there.

There has to be an easy way to do all this and I feel stupid for not being able to figure it out. I would appreciate any and all help from you experts. Thank you all in advance for your help. I appreciate the benefit of your knowledge.

To get the Windows player to actually play any files requires then to be in certain formats i.e. avi,wav,mpeg,mp3,midi,etc [all in the help file under supported formats].
What format are they and if you double click on one what program opens?

BTW unless you have an MP3 player in the car they will have to be wav files [or converted to wav anyway].

" How Do You Download Music Files From The Internet?

The music files that I'm downloading from the Internet are at this address http://www.hhdarma.addr.com/index.html and have the file extension 50s02.ra from www.beau-dacious.addr.com
The name of the site is Beau-dacious Oldies But Goodies. You can select S for streaming and listen to the song right there or you can select DL to download the song.

What I'm wanting to know is can I download files with this extension to my Windows Media Player or to a file folder that I create and can I burn them onto a CD-R with my Roxio 5 Easy CD creator? If so, would someone please explain to me in a step by step way how to do this? Thank you very much.

A quick search on the file extension leads me to REAL AUDIO files which of course are played with a real audio jukebox.
Now I dont know a lot about real audio except that its rumoured to have spyware in it but I may be wrong but heres the link anyway http://uk.real.com/index.html?lang=en-gb&loc=gb

    looking at your link
You will need a Real Player to hear the music.
To get the free Real Player click here
and look for the free Real Player.
    .
    Doh!

As for converting them to wav files for your car perhaps someone provide more info on this.

    Here's a link to get realplayer 8...

it's a slightly older version that does not have permanent spyware in it... Go into view>preferences>general>start center and uncheck it so it doesn't add clutter every time you boot your computer. Then in the content tab uncheck all the options there as well for further privacy. If you get any notices to upgrade to a newer version(realplayer one) don't.. it does have its own built in spyware that's difficult or impossible to remove.

As a movie viewer it is usually pretty crappy but can be ok for music. There's also no need to install the jukeplayer part of the program if you're given that as an option... just the basic realplayer is all you will need.
