Networking Problem with XP Home / 98se
I just installed a computer at home with XP Home on it. I also have a Win 98se computer. Previously, I had two computers networked peer-to-peer, both with Win 98se. They worked fine.
Now I have replaced one of them with the XP Home computer, and I can't get them to see each other at all. I think I've done all the steps in the Network wizard, including using the XP wizard on the Win 98 computer. They have the same workgoup name and individual computer names.
They are connected through a hub, not directly to each other.
Thank you for your responses in advance.

You need to have the same accounts on both PC's, same username and password. On the XP machine make the share and give permissions to the accounts. It is all or nothing on the 98 box. Having both PC's in the same workgroup helps also.
I don't know the same things you don't know.

Your problem could be the sharing (as said above); make sure each computer has at least one shared folder.
Also try restarting all the machines (twice: once after network setup, then again after that), for some reason that worked for me.
Hope this helps.
