How to Set Default Media Player In XP Home
Hi Everyone!
I'm wondering how I can stop Window's media player from coming up whenever I click on one of my songs or put a CD in to play? I would like Winamp to be my default player and I had it all configured in Windows98 and in XP, I went to where it had options for default mail programs and browsers and media players and etc and under the media players, all it said was keep current media player. I just am not familiar enough with XP yet to know where I need to go to accomplish all of this so any advice or help would be greatly appreciated!!!!
Thanks!!!

Open "My Computer" click "Tools" click "Folder Options" click the "File Types" tab, scroll down to "AudioCD" highlight it and choose "Change..." and point it to WinAmp.

The list of file types you can associate with Winamp is found in Main Menu>Options>Preferences>System>Media.
