Partition and format a NTFS drive ?

I have to make a new partition and then format my main hard disk drive, it's NTFS formatted. The OS is Windows XP pro.
Quiz: How do you do that ?

    Thank you for your help.

you have free space available to create this new partition?
if no you will need partition magic..

If yes just go into disk management which is in admin tools/computer management/disk management and right click on the free space and choose create new partition type NTFS.

as for formatting your main harddrive , you mean the one windows XP is installed onto? you just boot your XP cd wait till it gets to the install windows XP choose continue to install and choose that partition to install onto and choose to format it NTFS (dont choose leave current file system intact) make sure all important info is backed up first..
