new hard drive - old slave

I am going to install a new HD this weekend. currently I have 2 HD's with Win98SE as the OS.
I am going to put on Win2K and I just wanted to make sure that once it is installed, if I hook up and slave again, will I be able to access the files on D?
    thanks

Make sure you use FAT32 instead of NTFS when installing windows 2000. (windows 98 cannot read NTFS file systems).

If you are replacing win 98 with 2k and not going to use win 98 again you can use NTFS or FAT 32. Win 2k can read a fat32 so it will work with your fat 32 slave. As mentioned win 98 can't read a NTFS formated drive. That being said IMHO fat 32 is the better choice anyway.
I don't know the same things you don't know.
